Choosing a Gumotex inflatable kayak - comparison of Twist, Solar, Thaya and SeaWave kayaks

All three Gumotex inflatable kayaks are made of NITRILON® material, which is produced directly at Gumotex (a high-strength fabric with layers of rubber). Nitrilon has the advantage over the PVC competition that it folds very well (even at low temperatures), has a long service life and dries quickly. Unlike PVC boats, Nitrilon does not contain phthalates, which have negative effects on the body.

Open touring kayaks are ideal for recreation or water tourism in the warmer part of the year. The kayak allows easy boarding and disembarking and great variability in the use of space and the placement of seats.

Kayak TWIST 2/1 Gumotex

The smallest two-seater kayak from Gumotex. Due to its size, the Twist is more suitable for recreation and one-day trips. The kayak is very stable, suitable for beginners, but it is the slowest of the Gumotex kayaks. The Twsit 2/1 can be modified to a single-person version, and then the kayak already provides enough space for multi-day hiking. The advantage of the Twist is its small size when folded, so it won't take up much space in your suitcase.

We recommend the Twist kayak for beginners and for shorter trips on rivers or along the coast.

Kayak Solar Gumotex

The Solar is a versatile kayak that can be used both at sea and on rivers until WW2. Thanks to the larger side cylinders, there is less flooding, and in addition, it is possible to purchase a front deck, which is sold as an accessory. Solar has a large carrying capacity and can carry 2 adults and one child without any problems. Rather than the load capacity of the kayak, you will be limited by the internal space and length of 410 cm. The seats can be moved as needed to create a single, double or triple version of the Solar kayak.

Kayak Solar is recommended for paddlers who want a kayak for going down rivers and at the same time want to take it with them on vacations to the sea and make longer day trips.

Kayak Thaya Gumotex

The Thaya is similar to the Solar, but its bottom is a high-pressure floor made of DROPSTITCH material. Thaya is extremely stable and very comfortable. Thanks to the rigid bottom, the kayak behaves almost like a solid boat. The seats are also made of dropstitch and are very comfortable. The kayak is wide and has a large interior space.

The Thaya kayak is the most stable and comfortable Gumotex kayak. We recommend Thaya if you want to feel as safe as possible on your kayak.

Kayak SeaWave Gumotex

Seawave, as the name suggests, feels best on the sea or lake. SeaWave is the fastest Gumotex touring kayak. SeaWave can also be used as a family recreational kayak. Thanks to its length and carrying capacity, it can carry two adults and two small children without any problems. A deck can be attached to the kayak to create a covered kayak and, with an additional rudder, a full-fledged sea kayak even in more demanding conditions.

SeaWaje is Gumotex's fastest touring kayak. We recommend SeaWave for longer expeditions to the sea and lakes, including multi-day expeditions in more demanding conditions.
