Push-Push valve GUMOTEX
The Gumotex push-push valve is compatible with all currently available Gumotex models. It can be easily replaced by yourself in the event of a defect. This requires a valve spanner, which is supplied with all Gumotex models.
Replacement Procedure for GUMOTEX Push-Push Valve
The replacement part features a modern ergonomic design using the Push-Push system. This allows for very easy operation: simply press the piston to open or close the valve, with no rotation required.
What you will need:
-
New Push-Push valve.
-
Valve wrench SP 136 or an original GUMOTEX metal wrench.
-
A clean cloth.
Step-by-step Instructions:
-
Loosening under pressure: The valve is easier to loosen with the wrench while the chamber is inflated. Insert the wrench into the grooves and turn slightly counter-clockwise until the initial resistance breaks.
-
Deflation: Then, open the valve by pressing the piston and let all the air out of the chamber.
-
Disassembly: Continue unscrewing counter-clockwise. Important: Hold the bottom basket (nut) inside the tube firmly through the boat's fabric so it doesn't fall inside after the valve is removed.
-
Cleaning: Wipe the area around the hole and the internal thread of the bottom basket with a cloth. Remove any sand or dirt that could cause leaks.
-
Installation: Screw the new valve into the cleaned and secured bottom part by hand (clockwise). Be careful not to cross-thread it.
-
Final Tightening: Once hand-tight, use the wrench to secure it gently. Do not use brute force – tighten just enough to seal, ensuring it can be removed again in the future.
