What size sail to choose for windsup?

When choosing a sail for a paddleboard, the person's height, weight and strength are important. Further on the experience and conditions in which we want to drive.

We recommend the following sail sizes for beginners:

Surfer's age and weight Sail size
Children 5-8 years (25 - 40 kg) 1.0 m 2 - 2.5 m 2
Children 9-12 years (35 - 60 kg) 2.5 m 2 - 4.0 m 2
Lighter riders (50 - 80 kg) 3.0 m 2 - 4.5 m 2
Heavier riders over 80 kg 4.0 m  - 6.0 m 2

In general, the stronger or more experienced the rider, the bigger the sail. The recommended size of the tarpaulin is only indicative.

Suitability of sails for a paddleboard

How the sail will be stored depends on its size and the number of mast and battens. If the mast is two-part, its length when folded is approx. 2 m.

Small children's sails are made of light materials, the performance of the sail is not the most important here, the emphasis is on low weight.

Better jsop sails are made of stronger materials, have more spiers and allow sailing even in strong winds.
